Group Spiritual Companionship Program Completed!
The Institute of Spiritual Companionship launched a new one-year pilot program in group spiritual direction and retreat leadership in the 2008-2009 academic year. This program was intended as a "companion piece" to our 2-year program focusing on one-to-one spiritual companionship and is unique to the
Chicago region. We have now completed this first class of eight students with Episcopal, Roman Catholic, and United Churches in Christ affiliations in the Group Spiritual Companionship (GSC) program. Check out the program details, celebration of its completion, and remarks by class members on our web site either using the menu button to the left or this link to GSCProgram . The board of directors for the Institute will evaluate the results of this program as a possible offering in the future.

Welcome to the Institute of Spiritual Companionship
The Institute of Spiritual Companionship (ISC) is an ecumenical program, now in our 25th year, forming and training men and women who feel called to be spiritual directors/companions. We have completed 12 two-year formation programs in one-to-one spiritual direction /companionship. We have also completed a pilot program in group and retreat spiritual companionship/direction leadership. We are now in the process of implementing our new vision for the Institute, building upon our past history and faculty resources but developing new ways of providing excellence in formation of spiritual companions, and new venues for supporting communities in their spiritual companioning needs. Please contact us at Info@iofsc.org if you are interested in one of our certificate or continuing formation programs or in our assistance with your church or professional group.
